Lostech or lost tech refers to technology - primarily advanced research files - that were lost in the aftermath of the Crashes (the Crash Virus of 2029 and the Matrix Crash 2.0 of 2064). Some research projects were set back years, and even decades due to the crash and ensuing chaos, which saw many key research personnel killed.
