The Kataphractoi were troops in Saradomin's Army during the 2nd and 3rd Age. Early on they were archers, much like the Hippokon and Toxotai. Later they were shock troops exclusively, becoming the center of centaur culture. Consisting of only Centaurs, they forgot archery, much to the chagrin of the rest of their race, due to their heavy-duty nature. They wore heavy plate armor from head to hoof, and ran straight into the heaviest part of enemy lines.
