Eragon, Saphira, and Glaedr arrive at Doru Araeba on Vroengard Island. Eragon casts a spell with the guidance of Glaedr to protect them from the poison that is present on the Island since the fall of the riders. Eragon and Saphira marvel at the size of the city and the skeleton of the colossal dragon, Belgabad. After finding the Rock of Kuthian, Glaedr orders them to come back the following day when they are rested, so the group heads to a stream where they make camp and fall asleep.
