The Egyptians wanted to honor their dead leaders. They built a huge building exclusively to bury their bodies. The structure was built with lots of passages almost like a puzzle or a labyrinth. They wanted to make sure nobody would desecrate their departed leader; so they made sure it was too big, and hard to find the center. Wikipedia Quote: "The Egyptian pyramids are ancient pyramid-shaped masonry structures located in Egypt. There are over 100 pyramids in Egypt. Most were built as tombs for the country's Pharaohs and their consorts during the Old and Middle Kingdom periods."
