The Shambala Preserve is a animal reserve in Acton, California, established in 1972 by Tippi Hedren. Notable board members include Loni Anderson, Antonio Banderas, Ed Begley, Jr., Bo Derek, Melanie Griffith, Ken Howard and Linda Howard, and Betty White. Kermit the Frog posed for photos with Hedren on October 30, 1994, at the Artists for Shambala Benefit for the Shambala Preserve, held at the reserve. The Shambala Wild Animal Protection Act of 2000 is named after the reserve.
