The Freeholders are a small independent government. A grouping together of pirate fleets, information gatherers, and others, the Freeholders are in the Hysens system in the Ogriand Sector. This system, along with the Ogriand system are the only two ways into the Sector. Muir Corporation could not let the back way into the sector be guarded only by pirates and not have some presence there, so they recognized the Freeholders. The Hysens system is now co-controlled by the Freeholders and the Muir. The Freeholders maintain a small fleet and a modified Empress-class Space Station. They have since given up their pirate fleet, settling with an old Corellian Star Destroyer that they have refitted and revamped.
