Peter L. Blystone (born 1945) is the translator who has rendered Alexander Volkov's six Oz-based "Magic Land" novels into faithful English versions. Blystone's versions of Volkov's texts were published in three books (two novels per book) as Tales of the Magic Land. Volumes 1, 2, and 3 were published by Red Branch Press in 1991 (revised 2010), 1993, and 2007 respectively. In 2013 Blystone began publishing the further texts in the Magic Land series by Sergei Sukhinov. Peter Blystone worked for the U.S. Postal Service from 1968 to 2000; he is now retired, and lives on Staten Island, New York.
