He played junior hockey for the Prince Albert Mintos from 1950 to 1952. He split the 1952-53 season between the Vancouver Canucks and the Nelson Maple Leafs. Anderson continued to play in western Canada until 1954-55. That season he joined the senior Sault Ste. Marie Indians for two seasons. In 1956-57 he joined the Springfield Indians and was called up as an injury replacement by the Detroit Red Wings. He played in 13 regular season games and 2 playoff games, scoring no points. He played another two seasons for Springfield. He retired in 1968.
