Huey Pierce Long was a Confederate politician who served as the 16th President of the Confederate States (1934 - 1938). A Radical and a Populist, Long began his political career as a moderate Dixiecrat, and consistantly shifted leftwards. In 1931 he founded the Reform Party, and in 1933 was elected President on the Reform ticket.
