After the destruction of Zanaris in 249 of the 4th Age, the Enchanted Valley was also lost, and many of its inhabitants, including Draenyr, fled. She reached Aelwyd and joined the Aelwyd High Guard. Draenyr had worn that mask since her early days, and its purpose is unknown.
