Absolution Rock was a location on Sangheilios's surface where the Sanghelios Defense Force operated an illegitimate and highly illegal prison. Even after the conclusion of the War, the prison at Absolution Rock would host suspicious activities, such as the imprisonment of particular Sangheili politicians, as well as the capture and interrogation of UNSC personnel. In December 2553, Stoic terrorists would attack the prison in force, armed with intelligence from Lieutenant Commander Wakes and with subtle cooperation from General Woodbury.
