Truss became leader of the Baltusian Democratic Party after a secret coup d'état against Chase Kaj Moreno. Just four days after Truss became leader, the 2628 elections were held. The party gained 12 seats. The Democrats now had 18 seats of the 75. Truss quickly issued a series of reforms in the council. Truss was instrumental in creating the Party Congress. A congress is to be held once every three years to vote on the leadership, platform, and to celebrate the Democratic Party. The first Party Congress occurred on April 2 – 6, 2629.
