Antonio Segni (Sassari, 2 February 1891 – Rome december 1, 1972) was an Italian politician. From 1955 to 1957 and from 1959 to 1960 he was Prime Minister of Italy.From 1962 to 1964 he was president. Antonio Segni studied agricultural and commercial law and was Professor of Pavia, Cagliarito Sassari , and Rome. After the first world war he joined the Partito Popolare Italiano of Don Luigi Sturzo. This party was banned by Mussolini in 1926. In 1944 he became a member of theDemocrazia Cristiana, the Italian Christian Democratic party.
