For many years, several children of Shanazar were chosen (or volunteered) to become vessels for the genies of the Mystic Mountain. Since they could not leave the mountain in their gaseous forms, the genies required the children to be their hosts, allowing them to maintain a solid form when called upon. For five years, the children would be able to call upon genies to grant their every wish. However, after these five years, the children would die and the genies would become truly free. Despite their short lives, the children and their families consider the ritual to be a great honour. Fajar and Prank are possibly two people who have taken part in the ritual.
