Dim goggles were opaque eyewear designed to protect the eyes of light-sensitive species from normal sunlight on the surface of most worlds. They were originally designed by the Drall, who lived and worked mostly in subterranean cities, for venturing outdoors by day. The opacity of the glass could be controlled by use of a knob on the side of the goggles.
