The Battle started following the failed Battle of More several days earlier by General Falstaf of the Teutonic Knights. It was one of the first Battles in Europe to use Hand Cannons. Despite the Order's stronger and heavily trained infantry as well as a small supply of hand artillery, they lacked cavalry and became lost and outnumbered due to the native's knowledge of the land. The battle resulted in the handing over of the Teuton's rule of Latvia and the Treaty of Novograd.
