MCR-9 reconnaissance droids were probe droids used by The Shroud to conduct surveillance on the Republic and Sith Empire alike. They were repulsorlift powered droids secreted in remote locations on numerous worlds where they remained in place for long periods. After the Shroud's activities in the Galactic War became known to the Empire and Republic, the MCR-99 droids were located by spacers working for both sides using EV2 discreet reconnaissance macrobinoculars.
