Cioffi was a Starfleet security officer in the 24th century. In 2374, Cioffi held the rank of Lieutenant, and was assigned to Starbase 314. Cioffi, along with fellow security officer Lieutenant Shvak, were assigned to escort Doctor Elizabeth Lense from the USS Lexington to the starbase, to be questioned about her suspected genetic augmentation.
