Shenara was the daughter of the Klingon emperor Reclaw of the Second Dynasty, who was put to death after her father was overthrown. At the beginning of the Third Dynasty, a concubine named Karana was given Shenara's name and title to make it seems as though the family's lineage was unbroken. Sirella claimed that her 23rd maternal grandmother was Shenara, though she was actually Karana. (DS9: "You Are Cordially Invited") This character was only mentioned in dialogue. According to the episode script, the new "Shenara" later married Keltar, son of Torva, in the Year of Kahless 152.
