Area Bosses are special random encounters found in dungeons or on the world map. They are usually regular encounter monsters from higher level areas or later sections of the game, whose higher stats make them a challenge for low level parties. These monsters are easily identified by a change in the encounter music or battle music, which will often be more dramatic.
