Players in this game initially assume the role of Kay'l 669, a police officer from the city of Omikron on the distant planet of Phaenon, who allows the player's soul to assume control of his body. They investigate a series of murders and assume the roles of different characters as they learn more about Omikron and their ability to travel between bodies and dimensions. Quantic Dream severed ties with Eidos after developing Omikron: The Nomad Soul, leading them to publish Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy through Atari instead.
