Many believe that the Wombat Typhoon is based on a Meyers Manx Buggy, but the only part of the whole buggy that is even remotely like the Manx is the VW Beetle rear lights; and to a certain extent, the side profile. In fact, it is closer to the VW Beetle itself than the Beetle-based Meyers Manx. The light pod at the front is identical to a few of the SCORE Class 10 buggies competing in the Baja 1000, specifically one driven by the Hutchins family.
