Claude Maginot is a classically-trained actor who is ashamed at his recent forced career change, a successful audition for the part of the father in Just the Five of Us, a fictional sitcom with a ridiculous premise involving a "mix-up at the adoption agency" and "three zany new house guests." He resents Just the Five of Us, calling it "commercial dross."
