Trifle is a dessert consisting of cake (plain/sponge) soaked in spirits, and topped with alternating layers of jam, jelly, or custard, and whipped cream. Trifle was served as a dessert at the Welcoming Feast in 1991. Trifle was also served in Christmas in 1992. Harry and Ron waited for Crabbe and Goyle in the Great Hall while they are shovelling down four helpings of trifle before Harry and Ron gave the them them two plump chocolate cake with Sleeping Draught so they can get some hair from Crabbe and Goyle in processing their operation in making the Polyjuice Potion.
