Socks the Cat (c. 1989-2009) was the pet cat of Bill Clinton and his family during Clinton's presidency. A Muppet version of Socks appeared on Larry King Live on April Fools Day, 1994, when Kermit appeared as the guest host. He gave Kermit a special insider's view of the White House. Socks was later seen in the Cat on a Hot Tin Roof Movie Mania sketch, where he was performed by Steve Whitmire.
