The Kaferians (or Tau Cetiians) are a sapient civilization from the Tau Ceti star system, indigenous to Kaferia, the third planet. They are insectoid humanoids, with wide-set eyes and mandibles. One of their known exports is an alcoholic beverage known as Tau Cetiian verguzz. The star system's third planet exports the fruit Kaferian apples. They are extremely friendly, yet choose to be trusted allies of the Federation, rather have full membership. They are also known to be expert geneticists.
