On 17th May 2014 she married childhood sweetheart Tom Shaw in a ceremony at Leeds Cathedral. The following month it was announced she was pregnant and would be taking maternity leave later in the year. Kylie departed on-screen on Christmas Day, and Lane gave birth to a baby boy on 31st December. She resumed filming in May 2015 with the character returning on-screen the following month.
