Sōke (宗家?) is the designation given to the Grandmasters of In'ei Temple. Once bestowed this rank they are to discard their former surname and adopt the name In'ei in homage to the true and original Sōke, Hozoin In'ei. In power the Sōke is equivalent to the Kage. It is extremely formal to refer to Soke by this title, they are normally called Shishou.
