After attending the Orange County High School of the Arts in Santa Ana, California, Rose studied makeup and costume design as well as scenic design and construction as part of the Theatre program at California State University, Fullerton. She took the program's advanced prosthetics course several times, eventually becoming a teaching assistant for the class. She graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theatre Production and Design.
