Sohn has been director of photography and/or camera operator on many television projects, primarily sitcoms, reality shows, and wildlife documentaries. He worked on COPS beginning in 1994 and shot footage for Dateline and The Daily Show, moving on to Fear Factor ,The Amazing Race, The Bachelorette and The Bachelor, The Apprentice, and multiple seasons of Survivor. In 2005, he shifted to comedy, working as a B-camera operator on Scrubs and especially The Office. He soon became director of photography for the series and eventually directed eight episodes between the sixth and final seasons. He has also directed episodes of Parks and Recreation (also director of photographer), Black-Ish, The Goldbergs, and Fresh Off the Boat.
