The novel is a combination of blog posts written by Joe and IM conversations between him (JoeKnowsBest) and nurse Debbie (DebbieDoesGossip). It includes "Debbie" stories from several of the characters as well as Joe's point of view of several major incidents around the hospital, usually as told by characters coming to the bar after work, including Meredith sleeping with George, Meredith's debate between Derek and Finn, and the hospital prom. It also includes the recipes for some specialty drinks named after the characters.
