Oreal was a male harvest mouse, husband to Hillyah and father of the twins, Irgle and Ralg. He and his family moved into the Redwall Abbey Gatehouse to serve as Gatekeepers half a season after Old Gruggle passed away. Along with his wife, Oreal defended his children from an angry gannet that had been wounded and residing in the Abbey attic.
