The RG1550GX features a basswood body bolted to a maple neck with a matching headstock and a 24-fret rosewood fretboard with dot position markers. It has dual Ibanez Vintage humbucking pickups flanking and Ibanez single-coil which are mounted in a white pearloid pickguard. Other components include an Edge Pro double locking tremolo bridge with a locking nut and Gotoh tuning machines. The RG1550GX was produced only in 2003.
