An environmental studies graduate of the University of California, Robinson began studying theater while attending California State University. Making her professional acting debut in the mid-1990s, she has since made guest appearances on such TV shows as Home Improvement, Silk Stalkings, Melrose Place, 3rd Rock from the Sun, and The West Wing. She was also seen in films such as Sgt. Bilko and Nutty Professor II: The Klumps. Another film she appeared in was Shade, which also featured appearances by Michael Dorn and Charles Rocket as card players.
