Darren Rakal was a sergeant in the Republic Army who served on Oricon during the Dread War. Falling under the mental influence of the Dread Masters, Rakal was forced to serve them, and though the sergeant was eventually freed from their influence, Rakal was scarred by the experience. Rakal initially considered leaving the military, but chose to remain in the army in order to make up for the events on Oricon.
