In Rease's Past, Nichalo was born in an unnamed village. 10 years ago before the start of the series, Nichalo found Rease the Ancient Zoidian and the Organoid, Specular (much like how Van found Fiona and Zeke). At some point, the Republican Army attacked the village Nichalo and Rease were in, resulting in his death. Rease never forgave herself for this. Nichalo appears in Episode 51 with his Zoid, a silver Helcat named Tivrol, find Van wounded and help patch up his wounds. Nichalo and Tivrol stops Rease from attacking Van and his friends.
