Arlan was a Bajoran male and a member of the Bajoran Militia assigned to Deep Space 9. In 2373, he travelled to Cardassia aboard the USS Defiant to guard the Orb of Time on its way back to Bajor. During the voyage home, Arlan was attacked and stunned by Arne Darvin, who then stole the Orb. (DS9 episode & novelization: Trials and Tribble-ations) Arlan was not named in the episode but was given a name in the novelization.
