Shire Reckoning is the Hobbits' calendar. They numbered the years from the year Marcho and Blanco, the two Fallohide brothers, crossed the Brandywine River, in TA 1601. It had twelve months, each with thirty days. The journey of the Fellowship of the Ring started in 1418 by Shire Reckoning.
