Ashok Gadhil is a professor at the University of California Berkeley and Senior Scientist and Deputy Director (strategic planning) of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. His students have been active in researching various aspects of solar cooking. In the spring of 2009, they began a study to improve the design of solar box cookers. Dr. Gadhil was involved in the development of the Darfur Stove.
