Cars featured in Need for Speed: Rivals can either be exclusively available to either the racer or police faction, with only the Aston Martin Vanquish being available on both sides. Each faction can have their vehicles upgraded with performance parts and Pursuit Tech. The available selection of vehicles depends on the player's rank within either faction career and their available Speed Points. Racers can personalise their car with body paint colours and liveries to make their car unique. Cop vehicles are separated into three types: Patrol, Enforcer, and Undercover.
