The most reliable way to determine a person's sexual orientation is to ask them directly, and trust their answer. Although contemporary culture has defined stereotypes of what behaviors constitute certain sexual orientations, such as gay mens' "limp wrists" and musical preferences, bisexual people's promiscuity, and so on, these stereotypes—just like all other stereotypes—are not universally true.
