South Porcupine is located east of the main urban area of Timmins, Ontario. Is was part of the former Tisdale Township, which was amalgamated with Timmins in 1973. The South Porcupine Fire Department was Tisdale Township Fire Area 2. The SPFD became part of the Timmins Fire Department.
