Stella follows the standard Bell background, her divergence starts when she moves to Forks and meets Alice when she observes another boy beating him in school, a experience that Alice was enjoying. Alice unusual behavior caught Stella's attention and she aproached him, she realize that Alice was probably being physicially abused by his father. They had a few conversations and one day, Stella was extremely bored and the joker invited her over to his house. Alice opened to Stella, including why his family moved to Forks: Alice was raped and his father covered it up.
