At the time of the Fall of the Colonies, the Katana was part of the Sixth Fleet and participated in the defense of a Canceron. She was one of four ships of the 6th Fleet to survive the initial Cylon attack on Canceron. Sometime after the devestation of the Twelve Colonies of Kobol, the Katana joined the defense fleet of the last known refuge of humanity, the Copernicus Colony.
