Pulse spells damage a single target, Surge spells have an area effect like Barrage spells in the Ancient Magicks, and Rage spells damage all attackable targets in range. The Mahjarrat spells (Jhallan Jolt, Akthanakos Attack, Sliske Strike, and Avenge Azzanadra) each have an effect similar to a very powerful Ancient Magick spell. The Banish spell has the same effect as the spell on RuneScape Classic called Fear, aside from making the target disengage from combat.
