David Wilkinson (born in England) is a footballer who is currently playing for Crystal Palace in The Championship. He wears the number 38 shirt and plays as a goalkeeper. David started out in the Palace academy, and has come through the ranks to being a regular in the Reserve team during the 2005-06 season. Though he has now been given his first squad number, he is one of four goalkeepers in the Palace squad, and will have to play understudy to Julián Speroni in the Reserve team this season, unless first team goalkeeper Gábor Király gets his wish of moving away from the club, which would promote Scott Flinders to the first team, Speroni to the bench, and Wilkinson to a Reserve team regular.
