Shubba reports back to Tuthmes what has occurred, the lord instructs Muru to send the pig-demon to kill Diana and Conan. That night, a bloodthirsty Tanada has a man named Aahmes executed in the town square, and a disgusted Conan leaves to seek Diana. At that moment, the creature is coalescing in Diana's chambers, and Conan arrives just in time to attack. A bitter battle ensues, with Conan repeatedly stabbing the monster and half-beheading it at one point. Even then, the creature manages to stagger away.
