The Old Munich was a diner in Philadelphia during the Second Great War. Given its close proximity to the Congressional building, it was a quite popular lunchtime destination for Congressmen and Senators. In 1942 Congresswoman Flora Blackford and Senator Robert Taft were having lunch together when a people bomb exploded on a bus in the street outside. Blackford and Taft rushed out and provided what first aid they could to the many casualties.
