The Rigor Motor is loosly based on the "DRAG-U-LA" model kit, a design by Tom Daniel (while working for George Barris) for the TV show The Munsters. The casting is meant to resemble a coffin or casket, and the name of the casting is a play on "rigor mortis" and "motor". In 2017, slight changes to the casting were made; the casting lost a separate piece on the front, and it now has a plastic base for cost-cutting.
