The Rising from the Ashes series was an AU fanfiction series that takes place eighteen years after the Battle of Yavin IV and the destruction of the First Death Star, the New Republic had been forcing back the Imperial Remnant on all fronts since the final death of Emperor Palpatine in 11 ABY but over the years the Imperial Government had been able to reform on the world of Bastion under the Leadership of Admirals Gilad Pellaeon and Natasi Daala, however the return of Grand Admiral Thrawn eventually led the Remnant into a reformation war that will give the New Republic pause to consider negotiation.
